Avi Weisfogel Uses His Success in Sleep Disorders Treatment to Promote Operation Smile’s Goal

Dr. Avi Weisfogel graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in Psychology and Biology and later graduated with a Dentist degree from the New York University College of Dentistry. After completing his studies, that’s when he stared the Dental Sleep Masters Seminars in New Jersey. The organization was meant to help him teach people how to treat sleep disorders. He later founded Old Bridge Dental Care in New Jersey and specialized in sleep apnea and accumulate a lot of experience in the area.

Apart from his career, Avi Weisfogel has dedicated himself to give back to the community through charity giving. Recently, he started a GoFundMe page to support the Operation Smile Organization. He move was inspired by the organization’s impact to the society. Operation Smile started their work in 1982 steered by Dr. William Magee, a plastic surgeon and his wife who was a nurse. The program was in fact started in Philippines in collaboration with other medical professionals to help children with facial deformities such as cleft lips, cleft palates and any deformity around the facial area.

When the operations were started, Dr. William Magee and his wife were overwhelmed by the large number of children who needed their help. They turned to getting donations from well-wishers to use in providing surgeries and employing more professionals to join them. However, Operation Smile had to find more volunteer staff of nurses, doctors, and any technicians. Today, Operation Smile has spread its operations all over the world trying to help children get a smile. It has thousands of staff from eight different countries and serving thousands of children from over seventy countries.

Being a family man and father of six children, Dr. Weisfogel is happy to help children around the world who may have various dental and facial deformity issues. He believes the GoFundMe campaign will help Operation Smile take their charity work a step further and be able to reach more children needing help.
