When it comes to innovation you need look no further than the tech field. For years Silicon Valley has been the hotbed of progress when it comes to the world of technology and their work has fundamentally changed our lives. Now we are seeing the next step in evolution but this time it is by way of the mobile phone industry thanks to the company FreedomPop.
FreedomPop was initially established back in 2011 by CEO Stephen Stokols. Stokols wanted to create a company that offered free services to their members with the option to take advantage of digital add ons in order to make their money. This creative business model, which was scoffed at by most everyone, ended up becoming a true innovation in the world of phones. Soon FreedomPop was being sought after by various large phone companies and there were reports of buyout offers being thrown around like crazy. CEO Stokols chose to keep his company and believe that he could do something special. So far he has been correct.
When users sign up for the FreedomPop service they are given a free amount of minutes, texting, and mobile data. Typically this line up consists of 500 minutes, 500 texts, and 500mb of mobile data. When users want to upgrade to a higher plan they can do so by engaging with marketing advertisers that have agreed to work with FreedomPop.
Mobile advertisers partner with FreedomPop because it puts their material in front of an engaged audience. This is an extremely creative way to put more power into the hands of the consumer.
