Sujit Choudhry Supports Transitional Change

Mr. Sujit Choudhry has published over 90 reports, papers, book chapters and articles on legal building process helping different countries. Implementing a democratic system has been a challenge in Ukraine thus it has been unstable since the fall of communism. The instability makes it hard for the country to address some national issues on its own. With this concern, prominent scholars like Sujit Choudhry are trying to help the country gain stability in many ways. For example, recently they assembled in Kiev for a workshop with the aim of discussing this problem facing their country.

They were also to discuss other issues like poorly designed electoral system for its legislature and Ukraine’s president office possessing far more power. According to Sujit, the primary objective was to come up with constitutional changes in Ukraine and a semi-presidential system of government. The workshop happened under the sponsorship of Legal Reform and Center for Policy in conjunction with the International IDEA. The sponsors had high expectation with scholars like Sujit on the panel to find reasonable ways to improve their governmental processes.
